Example Projects
Cassel Works Site – DCS I/O Upgrade Project – Billingham
The scope of the DCS I/O upgrade project was to replace unsupported Yokogawa DCS hardware with an updated Yokogawa Centum VP DCS system.
The project included validation of existing marshalling and control panel I/O details against site loop drawings, including identification of redundant/legacy loops and/or panel wiring. Rationalization of new Field Control Stations and I/O modules, to include pre-wired spares and capacity for future hardware expansion. Re-design of existing panels to be repurposed with replacement DCS hardware, inclusive of new P&F termination boards and redundant PULS power supplies.
Plant 5.1 Project – Chemoxy International Ltd
Instrumentation & Control Design
The Plant 5.1 Project was a greenfield plant design project consisting of a reaction and distillation processing plant, bulk storage tank farm and tanker loading facility for the production of Chemoxy International Ltd.’s care products range.
Control loops, implemented via either a plant-based distributed control system or local controllers, used to control the principal operating parameters of the process.
Design and 3D modelling of related EC&I cable containment.
Re-Gas Terminal Project – Trafigura
Instrumentation & Control Design
Instrumentation & Control Design for a new LNG offloading facility, including marine loading arm, fiscal metering skids, pressure control skids, analyser packages, emergency shutdown valves, and all related monitoring, control and safeguarding instrumentation.
Design and 3D modelling of related EC&I cable containment.
Tank Overfill Protection Project – Oil & Pipelines Agency
Instrumentation & Control Design
New tank high level switches, ESD system and automated tank gauging upgrades designed to comply with HSE guidelines and regulations across various nationwide underground aviation fuel storage facilities.
Automatic tank gauging system upgrade and design of a SIL 2 rated tank overfill safety panel for high level tank overfill protection, including the design a new local equipment room and all related cabling infrastructure for new instrumentation and equipment.
Freon Replacement Project – Total
Instrumentation & Control Design
Replacement of the existing site Freon production facility with a new refrigeration package, utilizing propane R290 as the refrigerant to comply with the Montreal Protocol.
All monitoring, control and safeguarding instrumentation for the safe operation of the refrigeration package integrated into the existing site Infrastructure. Monitoring probes connected to the existing Bently Nevada CMS, Control of the package integrated into the existing Honeywell DCS, with safety critical aspects performed by the existing Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC.
